Drone Use Soars In Real Estate

carolsawdeyteam.com  If you have a sprawling property, a great neighborhood, or live in a scenic town or recreational area, what better way to show it off than with a birds-eye view. Aerial photography and video is now available to the most savvy Realtors with the use of drones.

“It just shows the landscaping and how the house is situated on the lot. It gives a totally different perspective,” says Carol Sawdey. “Right now, drones are being used primarily for high-end properties, where acres of land and outdoor amenities such as tennis and basketball courts or a pool can be accentuated to a potential buyer.”

Expect the use of drones in the Real Estate industry to increase as the technology gets better and more cost-effective and more agents get on the bandwagon.  We have the ability to use drone footage in our listing photos and videos right now.  Count on Carol’s team to always be on the forefront of technology in the industry.

The FAA’s rule-making arm hasn’t caught up with the small lightweight drones used for real estate shots since they are just an evolution of the radio controlled planes and helicopters hobbyists have used for years.  They will likely see more leeway from the rule makers than the larger more commercial drones being tested for companies like Amazon and Google.

Let us know what you think about drones and their use in general.  It’s an interesting subject and one we’re sure will be in the news for some time to come.
