Non-Profit Spotlight: Tri-Valley R.E.A.C.H.

REACH_LogoFor the second year in a row, the San Ramon and Danville offices of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices | Drysdale Properties will be spending their community service day painting one of the resident homes of Tri-Valley R.E.A.C.H.  REACH stands for Resources Education Activities Community and Housing for Special Adults.

REACH for Special Adults is a local, non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities by offering resources encompassing education, activities, community participation and housing opportunities. REACH has nine homes in the Tri-Valley serving 26 people with disabilities that range from Cerebral Palsy to Down Syndrome to Autism.

According to REACH, “Roughly 3% (or 1,000+) citizens in the Tri-Valley are adults with developmental challenges and they need a voice to ensure their currently under-supported needs are met. Our goals are to:

  • Acquire new property to meet the needs of the Tri-Valley population who we serve.
  • Develop a network to provide families with appropriate resources, information and support for their specific situation such as legal services, job opportunities and housing.
  • Increase social opportunities, bringing significantly more joy to the lives of the developmentally challenged of the Tri-Valley.”

We have been so positively impacted by the special adults in our lives and are very thankful for the efforts of the people who make REACH their life’s work.  To learn more about this organization please follow this link>>
